Marc Jacobs Liquid Lip Creme & Lip Liner Review

Marc Jacobs Beauty Poutliner Longwear Lip Liner Pencil:  This lip liner retails for $24. I purchased mine at Sephora in the shade ‘Slow Burn’. This product claims to be a collagen-infused long wear gel formula. It is said to be for “all day wear”. I absolutely love the packaging of this product. The silver and pink looks so sleek. I also love that this pencil is mechanical, you twist the bottom to get more product. This lip liner is very pigmented and applies evenly. It is not the most creamy I have ever used but I feel that is intentional and that is what keeps it holding onto your lips for so long; kinda like a matte lip would.  I do not mind that it dries because I have the same shade in liquid lip that will put moisture back. I think this is a beautiful shade, and it really is a long wear product in my opinion.  Depending on my day this liner has held for a good portion of the day, and sometimes it did hold all day.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Creme:  This was also purchased at Sephora for $28 and is also in the shade ‘Slow Burn’.  This shade is said to be a creamy nude rose. This product also claims to provide hydration and last for 8 hours. I like that this lip creme is free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. My feelings are, on top of the  liner that was drying, this did put some moisture back on the lips. I did not find this to be overly creamy. I applied mine very thin. I think the color is beautiful.  The lip creme would last for 8 hours (I tested it) but will not hold up through food and drink on its own. (Maybe I’m a messy eater).

Overall:  I love the packaging on both products.  The liner did a really great job holding on to my lips, this is how these products worked for me. I lined my lips and colored them in with the pencil. Slightly drying. Over the liner I applied the lip creme and my lips felt more comfortable. The reason I use these products this way is because I found if I only line my lips, once I eat the lip creme comes off and I am left with lined lips (not cute).  Doing it the way I mentioned worked out perfectly for me. I could eat and still have color because of the liner, and I would use the creme to touch up and add that creamy feel back to my lips.  I do not love this product, but I do not hate it either.  I think it is absolutely beautiful, and looks stunning on….. But I also feel that when spending $52 for a set I should feel wowed, and I am not wowed.

  1. Sometimes that works out a lot better, I’ve lined my lips without filling them in and like you said, after eating it all comes off 😣
Although the method doesn’t work all the time. 😑
